For the first addition to the repertoire list, I’d like to post the “Chaconne in D Minor” from Partita No. 2, BWV 1004, by J. S. Bach. This piece is very emotional and has wonderful polyphonic writing for an instrument that usually plays one melody line. The solo violin sounds like so much more than one instrument. This performance is by Jascha Heifetz, one of the top violinists of the 20th century.
